The final step is to submit your finished work to the iBookstore and hey presto, you're a self-published author. However, be aware that once you've issued it to the iBookstore, the terms and conditions stipulate that you can't sell it elsewhere. The exports are in iBook format but you can also export them as PDF files which any e-reader or tablet can read. Presumably however, any multimedia elements are excluded from PDF files so the result won't be as good as if you publish to the iBookstore. Alternatively, you can just export a pure Text version.
Have you ever read a book or listened to music and wanted an autograph of the author or artist? For printed items, the wish is easily granted - not so for their electronic equivalent. Now Apple has filed to patent a method for embedding autographs in ebooks and other digital material.

The patent application, titled 'Embedding an autograph in an electronic book,' describes a way an author can use a special application to digitally sign an ebook, video, song or author content, then share it with owners of the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad devices...
Back in January of this year, Apple introduced a new tool for authors to import their content into iBooks called iBooks Author. The software allows writers to easily create interactive documents that can be read on the iPad.
The change is an important one though, clarifying that Apple has rights over the format a book is in, not the content. If someone wants to charge a fee for an .ibooks formatted file, that document can only be sold or distributed through Apple, and that work will be subject to a separate agreement with Apple.
Apple iBooks usually format in .ibooks, .iba, and .epub. The first two are created by the iBooks Author app that is only available for macOS, and if your iBooks belongs to those kinds of formats, you can use this app to convert .ibooks iBook into PDF. For more detailed steps, check out the below tutorial.
Apart from the .ibooks and .iba file format we mentioned above, the most common format about iBooks is .epub. Usually, the EPUB iBooks are protected by DRM, which means that you cannot read them on non-Apple eReading apps or directly convert these iBooks to PDF unless the DRM is removed. So to convert DMR iBook to PDF successfully, you need to delete the DMR protection first, and then convert to .pdf.
To remove the DMR protection, you need to use some DMR removing tools. Here we take Requiem as an example. Once you download and launch this program, it will immediately remove the DRM restrictions from your iBook EPUB files.
\t \tWhile we loved using the tool, as it is stable and gives stunning results, we found its restrictions for the H.264 video format annoying, as we couldn't put video shot on the iPhone into the document until we had converted it with Compressor. Overall, it is a great app and highly recommended for all authors who want to produce a great e-book in no time.

iBooks Author 2.6.1 for Mac was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The software lies within Productivity Tools, more precisely Office Tools.
The actual developer of this free software for Mac is Apple, Inc. The most popular versions of iBooks Author for Mac are 2.2, 2.1 and 2.0. We recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus. This free application was developed to work on Mac OS X 10.9 or later.
But if you want to read ibook on other devices, you'd better export .ibooks to .pdf. Choose Share > Export, then click PDF. Select image quality and security options, click Next, input a name and choose a location for this file, and click Export.
A: The requiem drm tool only works great on iTunes 10.5 or 10.6 (10.5.3 is highly recommended). So if you are using iTunes 11.0 or later, you should uninstall it, then downgrade to 10.5 or 10.6, delete your books from the iTunes library window, re-download the book under iTunes 10.5 or 10.6.
Then, click on "Add" button to upload your drm free ibooks. If your have successfully remove drm from iBook, this tool can detect drm free files automatically. In other words, in this step you just need to add those drm free epub books to this program.
I just want to tell that it would be good to precise at the beginnig of step 2 for the situation 2, that epubor converter will only recognize files with .epub or .pdf extensions but not those with .ibooks extension.
However, what if it is a .epub or .pdf purchased, say, from O'Reilly? Sometimes the ebook is $29.99 on iBooks store but $25.99 on O'Reilly. It seems that the book won't be automatically downloaded to the bookshelf, but we can use Dropbox or Box.net to transfer to iBooks, and all the highlighting and added notes will be there on each device (sync'ed).
The sample e-books released with iBooks Author are impressive examples of what textbooks could do on touch screens, such as the iPad. iBooks Author can publish e-books in its native format (.ibooks), ePub, and PDF. The .ibooks format is only viewable on iPads. The iBooks Author application is free and can be downloaded via the App Store, but requires Lion, Apple's latest Mac OS X.

Although InDesign has many useful features, we use Pages because our workflow requires it: our authors write in Pages, so we don't have to reformat or export to a different layout program to produce the final document. We don't have a centralized staff, so equipping everyone who has to work on our books with InDesign would be extremely costly in our case. Going from a Pages Take Control document to a finished EPUB takes us roughly 15-30 minutes, including the time needed to load the book on an iPad and eyeball it for possible formatting errors.
This Apple designed software offers exclusive and attractive format capabilities. Users can create professional digital publications with its formats and functions even not being an expert. It also provides thorough help services to guide users to become a capable e-book author. The only reason it ranks NO.2 is that works created by this software could only be sold on the iBooks Store.
It is commented that Scrivener is geared more toward Mac users than Windows users. Its interface is overhauled, well-organized and modernized, which facilitates the e-book creation in Mac. One of its outstanding features is that it will keep track of how much author writes each day with its Writing Statistics. For mac OS, it offers Extensive Touch Bar support and promises to run faster and more stable in the future.
2ff7e9595c
