Launched in February 2004 in the United States, Facebook soon became a phenomenon for social networking, with 2.936 billion people using the platform every day. It is still a means of connecting friends, family, colleagues, and strangers globally. In 2005, Facebook introduced the events option on the platform. This feature allowed users to organize birthday parties and other events, also showcasing the birthdays of the profiles in your friend list in chronological order. Are you confused about what happened to birthdays on Facebook or why Facebook not showing birthday notifications? We bring you this helpful and effective guide that will tell you where can you find Facebook birthday notifications and also how to turn on/off Facebook notifications.
After a few times, Facebook limits the change of your birthdate. Certainly, your friends birthdays have been one of the most popular features of facebook. It allows us to stay connected and send a birthday wish to those we know. Recently there have been a number of changes regarding user birthdays on the platform. One being, as of July 2019 I believe, you can no longer download/sync your friends birthdays to your personal calendar. This was changed in an effort to protect user privacy as Facebook continues to make changes and build security and privacy after the scandals of last year.
And now, birthdays of your friends are no longer showing in the right column of your news feed page on facebook. For many this is frustrating, often finding out after the fact one of their friends had a birthday and the user missed it.
Important: It may take up to an hour for these feeds to show up. So go have a snack, run an errand, then come back, refresh Cozi and see all your Facebook birthdays and events right on your Cozi calendar! Please come back and tell us how this works out for you!
I had the same problem. Removing the birthday calendar also removed my contacts' birthdays. What I did took a while but it worked. I don't know how or why but some of my facebook friends (the ones their birthdays where spamming my calendar ?) appeared in my contact list, so i deleted them from my contacts one by one. It took a while but it worked. Hope i helped!
I have a lot of birthdays in my contacts downloaded from facebook in the past. I want to delete only the birthdays from all contacts. If that is not possible is it possible to delete data synced from facebook from my calendar in iCloud and iPhone and Mac?
Other contact changes (including birthdays) are saving properly, the problem is that they don't seem to be syncing properly with the calendar. And I'm still able to add recurring events as normal in the calendar. I'm not sure how to add a birthday event to a contact, so I was unable to troubleshoot that any.
The first option available to us to use the out of the box SharePoint Calendar (Events Web Part). It is a classic calendar we always had in SharePoint, that was somewhat modernized for a modern experience. Adding events (birthdays) is pretty straightforward, and they will all show up in chronological order on the main page.
The data in your contacts are synced to Calendar on iOS. For example, if you have a Facebook contact, their Birthday will show up on the Calendar app. You may sync all events, birthdays, and anniversaries from other calendars to the Calendar app. You may also use the app to add events and receive reminders for them. iOS is intelligent enough to automatically add events from Mail invites to Calendar.
If you are tagged in a post, the post defaults to automatically showing up on your Timeline. I recommend you choose the setting to review the posts before they appear. Go to www.facebook.com/settings?tab=timeline, and you'll find the option in the Reviewing section.
If you don't want other people to see the number of reactions to your posts, you can turn off showing post reactions. Go to www.facebook.com/settings?tab=reaction_preferences and toggle off "On your posts" in the "Hide number of reactions" box.
Yes, you can set up notifications for birthdays. Navigate to Settings and select a calendar. Then, click Change, Remove, or Add a notification. You can choose how far in advance and how often you want to be notified of upcoming events.
I use yearly repeating events to display birthdays. However when I create such an event with the birthdate as event date 50 single events get created in the db starting with the birthdate. If someone is older than 50 their birthdays do not show up in the calendar. 2ff7e9595c
